SWON receives advance copies of books from publishers of children's literature, which we pass along to our members in exchange for honest reviews. We're expanding and reinventing this program as a live event to make it accessible to all SWON members!

Attendees will receive six or more randomly selected new books that can be used as prizes or giveaways at your library, or even added to your collection. You'll get at least two picture books and two non-fiction books, and at least one board book and one chapter book or middle grade. In return, participants are asked to write reviews for each book, sharing their thoughts, critiques, and recommendations.

During this event, attendees will be given time to read through their books and engage in discussions about what they liked (or didn't), tips for readers advisory, and exchange ideas for incorporating these stories into storytimes and other library programs.

Join us for an afternoon of reading and networking, then take some free books back to your library!

Ample free parking is available across the street from the main entrance marked "Library Parking."

Continuing Education:
