Join us for a virtual presentation brought to you by the Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library’s LGBTQIA+ staff work team.  We acknowledge and encourage libraries large, small, and in between to brainstorm ideas on how to engage in community need awareness, how to leverage local, regional and Statewide partnerships with Queer organizations.  We will demonstrate examples of our partnerships, webpages and events, and more!

Clarity Amrein (she/her) is an Ohio native and passionate Cincinnatian. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing from the University of Cincinnati in 2018 before beginning her library career in 2019. She earned her Master's in Library and Information Sciences in 2021, and later her Masters of Science in User Experience Design in 2023, both from Kent State University. Clarity is the Community Content Coordinator for the Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public Library, a librarian position that blends traditional local history reference, exhibit curation, multimedia content creation, and coordinating digitization projects. She is also an archivist and board member of the Cincinnati-based Ohio Lesbian Archives, one of only a handful of LGBTQIA+ community archives in the country. Clarity is passionate about the intersections of library and archival sciences and technology, particularly access, usability, and user interaction as it pertains to digital preservation and digital collection. Outside of her work, Clarity is a poet, performer, musician, cat lover, and most recently, a new mom to her baby boy, Tristan.

Krystie Salyers (she/her) is a lifelong Cincinnatian. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Cincinnati in 2012. After receiving her Master's Degree, Krystie began a path through CHPL as a Children's Librarian, Youth Librarian, and is now a Reference Librarian in the Genealogy and Research Department at the Downtown Main Library. David Siders (he/him) has spent his career at the Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library in a variety of beloved roles.  David’s current role is Civic Engagement Coordinator.  He strategically plans how the Library provides necessary resources based on community needs assessment, with a focus on supporting the needs of underserved communities.  David builds partnerships with community organizations to further connect community members with Library and community resources.  For example, David collaborates frequently with The League of Women Voters Cincinnati Area, he developed a Library partnership with the Greater Cincinnati Voter Collaborative, participates in National Voter Registration Day, and more, to connect community members to voter registration and resources.  David is proud to co-lead CHPL’s LGBTQIA+ staff work team.  He has two cat children named Buffy and Teddy.
