Take 5 is currently at full capacity, but you can join the wait list to be notified if spots become available

Join other teen advocates for a day of creative approaches as we work together to build a foundation for ourselves and our teens to learn and grow. We will explore a Whole Learner approach that sees teens as people first: individuals with unique perspectives, experiences, knowledge and needs. We’ll look at soft skills, executive skills, healthy work habits, collaboration, and more (for our teens and ourselves!). We’ll troubleshoot, dive into hot topics, and enjoy a day with empathetic teen services peers.

This year’s event will feature:

  • A morning with 2022 YALSA Innovation Award winner Grace Hammond, leading a hands-on Whole Learner mini-workshop.
  • A panel of seasoned teen services specialists will answer your burning questions about anything teen services related!
  • Small group discussion breakouts on timely topics and big-picture perspectives.
  • Morning refreshments, box lunch, lunchtime library tour and activities.

Take 5 is an attendee-driven event. Help create the content! Do you have a question for our expert panel? Are there topics or issues you wish you could discuss with other teen services specialists in a supportive, respectful environment? Share your questions, ideas, and topics to help prepare our afternoon panel and small group conversations using this form: https://forms.gle/pAAvGCSzHKHz1byYA

There will be an informal get-together for Take 5 attendees in Dayton on Thursday evening, May 2. If you’re local, or traveling to Dayton on Thursday, and you’re interested in meeting up with other teen services specialists, email Kelly Edwards at kedwards@bexleylibrary.org to join the contact list and get details about the meetup.
